Low-Income Housing Program

Despite the enormous amount of prosperity in the United States, there is a huge homeless population including many families with children. Wings of Grace receives many calls each week from desperate people seeking a place to live.

Our ministry purchases homes with the intention of using them to provide low-income housing for tenants who have trouble acquiring housing from private landlords. Wings of Grace is not a “flipper.”

The rental income from these properties help fund our teen flight and music programs, creating a win-win situation. We strive to handle all repairs and maintenance in-house so that we can provide our students with opportunities to earn flight and music lessons. One great benefit is that we teach work skills to our students.

As of early 2019, Wings of Grace has 32 rental units in Florida. In 2018 a vacant building lot was donated to the ministry in Crossville, Tennessee. Our plan is to build a home on this lot and expand the ministry into Tennessee.

BEFORE

AFTER

We Provide

  • A contact point for desperate and hurting people and families
  • Seek tenants who are homeless due to poor credit, evictions and/or criminal history
  • Rents below average
  • Income for teen ministries
  • Student work opportunities to earn flight and/or private music lessons

Relief is the easiest and most measurable type of help; Development help is the hardest and most time consuming.  After a tenant is housed with Wings of Grace we focus on development:

  • Creating a budget
  • Credit restoration
  • Savings plan
  • Family and marriage counseling
  • Eliminating poverty mindsets
  • Tenant goal of owning their own home!
